Go green. Go healthy.

Remodeling with an eye towards conservation, recycling, sustainable design, and renewable resources and materials makes for a healthier home, energy savings, tax credits, and a long-term return on investment. A green remodel also makes for good stewardship of the planet.

Canyon Design Build is navigating these new and exciting options with clients, and brings to the process solid experience and expertise in green remodeling.

  •  Our parent company, Canyon Construction, has been blazing green trails for more than 40 years. It built its first sod-roof, recycled-content home in 1969.
  •  In 2001, Canyon Construction submitted the first recycling plan for a remodel project that used recycled timber, drywall, cabinets, siding, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and appliances.
  •  Canyon Construction completed a restoration of its headquarters, the historic Moraga Barn. It is one of the most energy-efficient buildings in the country and recently received a LEED Platinum certification for it.

    More than 50 Canyon Construction employees have taken the Build it Green, Green Building certification course. Canyon Construction also has several LEED-accredited professionals on staff.Canyon Design Build is part of the U.S. Green Building Council. Our designers and contractors are highly educated on green choices.


Our green design work was featured in Metropolitan Home (“The Greenest Little House in America,” April 2009) for receiving the highest LEED rating score in the county.
