Our Orinda clients envisioned a complete transformation of their property, expanding the home's footprint and reimagining both the interior and exterior to reflect the warmth and character of the Southwest. Canyon Design Build modernized the original 1950s structure with a streamlined roofline, stone accents, and a modern garage door that add balance and depth to the façade. The updated entryway and landscaping enhance curb appeal and introduce the contemporary interior within.

In the backyard, a natural stone patio and built-in spa beneath an eye-catching pergola with wood seating create a serene retreat, while the new outdoor kitchen offers full functionality and bends seamlessly into the design. Thoughtful materials and smart landscape drainage make the outdoor living spaces feel grounded and organic, echoing the surrounding views.

Inside, the kitchen stands out with its exposed beams, chef-grade appliances, and oversized sliders that create an easy, natural flow to the alfresco kitchen. The centerpiece is a large island designed with a floating seating area and built-in bookshelf. Flat-panel cabinetry and frosted glass doors introduce sleek lines and subtle texture for a refined finish.

Additional upgrades throughout the home include renovated bathrooms, a full master suite with sliding glass doors framed by transom and side windows that open directly to the patio, and a secondary office suite featuring a wall of built-in storage and a concealed Murphy bed. The formal living room features expansive windows that flood the space with natural light and create a strong visual connection to the outdoors.

The result is a home that captures the essence of California living, rooted in craftsmanship, designed for connection, and inspired by the spirit of the Southwest.
