Outdoor Living From the Top of the Hill – Berkeley

Atop the Berkeley Hills you will find thish incredible architectural structure. The clients wanted to build a deck above the backyard to take advantage of the bird’s-eye views. We needed to find a way to preserve a beautiful tree in the process. What the team came up with was this amazing spiral staircase that seamlessly moves around the tree. This was created by building a steel enforced frame and partnering with the steel manufacturers to build the staircase. The deck is made with Ipe wood that improves in color and richness as it ages.
