Decks Make a New Home – Oakland

Our Oakland clients wanted a fresh vision for their California bungalow, expanding the connection between indoor living and a new backyard oasis. Canyon Design Build reimagined the layout to enlarge the primary bedroom and add a spa-like bathroom renovation with a custom steam shower and contemporary finishes. New French doors from the bedroom open directly to the deck, creating an effortless indoor-outdoor flow.

The heart of the project is the transformed backyard, beginning with a full regrade and new drainage system to make the space usable year-round. Hardscape pavers define a ground-level seating area, while richly toned redwood decking and fencing add warmth, durability, and privacy. The result is a home that flows seamlessly, blending modern comfort with California’s signature outdoor lifestyle.
